CITY COMPARISONS 2025

The project ‘City Comparisons’ is divided into series of
photographs of various places to examine differences and similarities in architecture and ambience. Taken between 2024 and 2025, the
photographs represent places visited by the photographer Dr Robert Organ. Series
are made for the following places: HagiaSophia (a huge Christian church before it was converted into
a mosque), the Grand Bazaar, the Sultan’s Palace (Topkapi Palace) and the fascinating underground waterways of the Basilica
Cistern. Buildings along the Bosphorus
are also shown along with other city monuments and the contemporary gallery,
Istanbul Modern. Sciences, and the beach and port area. In the Old Town, the famous Cathedral, St.
Nicholas Church, the exterior of the National Museum of Ceramics and Sanctuary Arts, and the Central Market
were photographed. In the City of Arts
and Sciences, the Oceanogràfic (Europe's largest aquarium), the Museu de les
Ciències Príncipe Felipe (science museum), the Hemisfèric (planetarium), the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia (opera house),
and the Àgora (multifunctional space) were photographed. Louvre,Versailles palace, the town Hall, the Pompidou Centre, the
Louis Vuitton Foundation, St. Denis Basilica, Montmartre, the interior of the Galeries Lafayette shop, the Sacre Coeur
church, the Seine River, the Orsay Museum and of course the symbol of Paris, the Eifel Tower, are all shown. Japan) comprises many wooden buildings in its historic centre
which is enclosed in a huge park.
Hundreds of friendly deer (said to encompass the spirits of deceased Buddhist priests) roam
the park which makes for a unique experience.
Also, within the park is the prestigious Todaiji Temple with its 15m high
Buddha. All of these features were
